8. Tell us about a time you went above and beyond for a customer?

Try and bring your own examples for this question but here are some that come to mind.

  • Once a customer wanted a particular item on a menu that our restaurant didn’t offer. We were able to go to the restaurant next door and pick up that item. The customer was very grateful.
  • When I worked at a fast-food restaurant there was a mother who had several children with her. We don’t usually bring items to the table but I offered. I was also able to bring them free refills. The mother was very grateful.

9. How would you deal with an upset customer?

  • First I would listen to the customer’s complaint.
  • Second, I would sympathize with the customer.
  • Next, I would try and fix the issue
  • Finally, I would apologize for any issues that could be avoided.

10. Name a time you had a conflict with your boss and how did you resolve it?

  • It is only natural to have a conflict with your boss.  What is most important is that you came to a positive outcome of the conflict in a peaceful manner.  The question is to see how good your communication skills are.
